Timeframe for the integrated Attendance Service
3 October 2011 17:20
Tēnā koutou DTS and NETS providers,
The timeframe for the integrated Attendance Service has been revised.
The Attendance Service will now offer services to schools from 16 July 2012; the start of Term 3.
DTS Agreements and the NETS Contract will be extended for Terms 1 and 2, 2012 to maintain service continuity until the integrated Attendance Service starts. This information will also be sent in a letter to all providers in the coming week.
The Ministry will be communicating the revised timeline for the integrated Attendance Service and the extension of DTS and NETS to all schools and other interested parties through the Education Gazette and the Ministry Attendance website.
As a DTS provider, can you please confirm with the schools on your DTS Agreement list that you will continue to provide your service until the integrated Attendance Service starts in Term 3, 2012.
The extended timeframe will allow for a smooth transition to the integrated Attendance Service without a break in service delivery for schools, minimising the risk of adversely affecting students’ attendance and achievement.
The extension of DTS Agreements and the NETS Contract, until the integrated Attendance Service starts on 16 July 2012, will allow the lead regional/national provider(s) to:
The letter will highlight the Agreement modifications (e.g. dates, funding, etc) for Terms 1 and 2, 2012 and the process for submitting your signed Agreement.
Additional information including frequently asked questions and answers about the integrated Attendance Service can be found at www.minedu.govt.nz/attendance .
We would like to remind you that Expressions of Interest (EOI) for involvement in the integrated Attendance Service are due, through the EOI process on the GETS website, by midday on Tuesday 18 October 2011.
Existing providers who submit an EOI response will position themselves well to be a part of the new service. Existing providers who choose not to submit an EOI response will not be precluded from being part of the new service. However, it may be assumed that they are not interested in this opportunity.
Thank you for your ongoing support for students’ attendance at school.
Yours sincerely,
