Service Provisions - CTDTS and STDTS - 2008

The Central & South Taranaki District Truancy Service's will provide services within the Central & South Taranaki District Cluster's.

1. Respond to a truancy referral forwarded by schools or the community
within 24 hours or the following rostered day.
2. Establish communication with caregivers of case referred
3. Work towards facilitating the return of truant to school
4. Maintain communication with schools, caregivers and relevant agencies
5. Liaise and report regularly to the referee (within 5 working days)

To achieve the mission of the Central/South Taranaki District Truancy Service's

Truant Patrols
To patrol (randomly) the Central and South Taranaki District areas and where appropriate return students to school
* To respond to school requests to try and locate truants
* To respond to parents' requests to try and locate truants

School Development
* Assist schools in their development process of creating effective school attendance policies
* To be a resource for schools
* To support schools
